Patient rights and responsibilities

The rights and responsibilities of individuals cannot be compromised due to their vital importance. Hence, we respect the rights of all our patients and their relatives who wish to obtain our health services.

Based on our awareness of patients’ rights, we have included for you the following rights inspired by the Turkish Ministry of Health, the purpose of which is to inform our patients of their rights and responsibilities that they must fulfill while purchasing the service.

Patient rights

Patients’ rights aim to protect human health and provide high-quality health services.

1- The right to benefit from the services

Everyone who is accepted for treatment within our health network has the right to use all services without discrimination in language, religion, race or sect. He has the right to benefit equally from preventive and curative health services necessary for a healthy life.

2. The right to request information

Our patients have the right to receive information about their general health status, current health care and how to benefit from it, and to see and obtain documents related to patients and diseases that affect them.

3- The right to acceptance and approval

Our patients have the right to accept, refuse or request discontinuation of any service after being adequately informed.

4. The right to choose and change health care and personnel

Our patients have the right to choose and, if possible, change the method of diagnosis and treatment to be used, as well as request a change of doctors, nurses and other medical personnel responsible for their treatment.

5. The right to privacy

Our patients have the right to request confidentiality regarding their personal information, health status, diagnostic and treatment procedures, or private visits.

6- The right to be respected

Our patients have the right to receive health care with a friendly, kind and empathetic approach and in a clean contemporary environment.

7. The right to fulfill religious obligations

Our patients have the right to fulfill their religious obligations within the limits of the facilities available in the health facility as long as they do not hinder treatment.

8. The right to visit and accompany

Our patients have the right to receive visitors and to seek escorts in accordance with the procedures and principles determined by the health facility.

9- The right to safety

Our patients have the right to protect their life and property, and to be protected from health care risks and medical errors.

10. The right to consult and request a second examination

Our patients have the right to obtain information about their health from a doctor who works in the same specialty other than the one who treats them, or to seek advice from a specialist in a different specialty.

11- The right to submit a complaint / express an opinion and suggestions

Our patients have the right to file a complaint in case their rights are neglected and to obtain the results of the complaint after reviewing and processing it in the hospital.

* For security reasons, camera footage is filmed in public areas of our hospitals. However, this precaution is not applied in areas that require privacy such as the patient’s room and the doctor’s room*

Patient responsibilities

Patient responsibilities are the duties and obligations that a patient must fulfill in the process before and after applying for treatment to our health network.

1. General responsibilities

Our patients take it upon themselves to do their best to take care of their health and follow the advice given to maintain a healthy life. Most of the time the health symptoms are simple and people are responsible for taking care of themselves.

2. Social Security status

Our patients are responsible for timely reporting changes to their health, social security, and personal information.

3. Inform healthcare professionals

Our patients are responsible for disclosing their complaints, past illnesses, whether they have received any clinical treatment, if any, the medications they are currently using and all information related to their health.

4. Comply with hospital rules

Our patients are responsible for complying with the rules and practices of the health institution to which they are applying.

Our patients are responsible for paying the costs of examination and treatment.

When the patient gets an appointment to benefit from the services of a health facility, he is responsible for adhering to the date and time of the appointment and informing the relevant persons of the changes.

Our patients have a responsibility to respect the rights of medical staff, other patients and visitors.

Our patients are responsible for damage to medical supplies due to misuse.

5- Compliance with treatment recommendations

It is our patients’ responsibility to listen carefully to advice on treatment and medication and to seek advice on points they do not understand.

It is the patient’s responsibility to inform the healthcare professional if there is a situation in which they cannot comply with treatment recommendations.

It is our patients’ responsibility to determine whether they have correctly understood the post-discharge plan of care as expected.

Our patients are responsible for the consequences of refusing treatment or not following recommendations.
